Communication Trainings for Organisations

Based on Nonviolent Communication

What do you mean by “Nonviolent” communication?

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a model for communication developed by psychologist Marshall Rosenberg. ‘Violent’ means any communication that leads to distance or strain in our relationships. Sadly, many of us communicate in ways which don’t serve to better our relationships but actually create distance between us and the other person.

The goal of Nonviolent Communication therefore is to create more understanding, trust and care in our relationships with others – be it a customer, a workshop participant, a colleague or an employee.

These communication skills are designed to increase your organisational impact.

Who am I?

I’m a facilitator and coach trained in Nonviolent (Compassionate) Communication. I’m passionate about how we relate to one another and endlessly curious and excited by how our communication affects the type of connection we have with others. I long to connect with other people, be it at work or in my personal life. My work is devoted to enhancing our communication skills to allow us to experience more safety, understanding, harmony and enjoyment.

I was born in Melbourne where I lived until the age of 28. I then moved to Israel where I live with my partner and our two children.

Testimonials

“Mike Korman facilitates and guides our team with skill, compassion and intelligence. We feel he is a valuable member of our team, rather than an occasional advisor. We will certainly continue to engage him to work with us a couple of times a year. Non-violent communication is at the core of our work as we walk alongside community sector organisations and funders. The better we are at non-violent communication, the greater will be our social impact.”

Wendy Brooks, Wendy Brooks Consulting

“Mike spent time with us beforehand making sure he really understood our organisation, culture and style of facilitation.
As a result of this pre-work, the training session was relevant and very practical. There was a perfect balance of theory, discussion & practice.
Mike is professional and a master of holding space and creating safety. The tools, structures & techniques he taught us were able to be utilised internally as well as with the participants we work with. Selfishly, I’ve also been able to implement what he taught in my personal relationships.
